Who doesn’t love a pasta dish?
Making Pasta is one thing that I love doing on weekends with whichever children happen to be around. It is such a great engaging activity, that enables the kids and I to release our energy.
I will never forget the first time that I made fresh pasta. It was of course, in Italy on one of my countless visits to Tuscany. I was staying with a family in an old farmhouse where everything that was made, was of course sourced from the farm. I was in heaven.
The lady of the house taught me how to make fresh pasta and since then, I have folded it into my weekly repertoire.
I usually rip off a piece of the dough for the kids to play with, while I cut and shape the pasta into whichever form I desire.
This recipe here is a traditional recipe with wheat flour and eggs. But, I’ve been recently experimented with gluten-free variations and some of them have turned out wonderfully well. I will share those soon.
I love making Farfale, which means butterfly in Italian.
And as we all move out of the pandemic-emerging out of our cocoons and out into the world, with new perspectives of life.…making Farfalle was very appropriate. Enjoy!
